ABOUT CENTAG

The idea behind establishing the Center for Non-Traditional Security Threats and Governance is the commitment to education, advancing research, policy development, and capacity building in the field of non-traditional security threats. Our mission is to conduct interdisciplinary research and education, develop evidence-based policy recommendations, and foster regional and global cooperation to address emerging security challenges such as climate change, energy security, transnational organized crime, terrorism, and cyber-security in socio-political milieu of Pakistan. By engaging with academia, governmental and non-governmental entities, our center aims to provide innovative solutions and contribute to the re-conceptualization of security governance and awareness in a rapidly evolving global landscape and provision of assistance in the completion and execution of SDGs.

To aims to foster academic and business community cooperation in tackling emerging security challenges like climate change, energy security, displacement, food security, health security and cyber-security.
Through engagement with academia and various entities, the Center provides innovative solutions and contributes to reshaping security governance and awareness in a changing global landscape.

Dr Aiysha Safdar

PhD International Relations


Dr Aiysha Safdar has a PhD in International Relations from the University of Punjab, Lahore. She is an active member of the academic community. Her areas of interest are Conflict and Peace Studies, Maritime Security and Maritime Politics and the Indian Ocean. She has published her research in leading National and International journals and shared her views on several national and international platforms.

Dr Asia Mukhtar

PhD International Relations

 

Dr Asia Mukhtar has a PhD in International Relations from the University of Punjab, Lahore. She has published her research in leading National and International journals. She is an active member of the academic community. Her areas of interest are International Politics of the environment, Green Peace, Energy and hydro Politics.

Dr Qudsia Akram

PhD International Relations

 

Dr Qudsia Akram has a PhD in International Relations from the University of Punjab, Lahore. She has published her research in leading National and International journals. She is an active member of the academic community. Her areas of interest are conflict, terrorism, human and drug trafficking and violent non state actors

Dr Shireen Mushtaq

PhD International Relations

 

Shireen Mushtaq has a PhD in International Relations from the University of Punjab, Lahore. She has worked extensively on regional dynamics of South Asia, covering nations and nationalism, strategic/ maritime security and foreign policy of states. Shireen has also worked on social issues, her research on emancipation of women and pursuit of social justice in Pakistan reflect her passion to uplift Pakistani women.
